About The ProjectThis school was thoughtfully designed with a deep respect for its historical context and the surrounding landscape. Drawing inspiration from the land itself, we developed a whimsical, dimensional beehive concept that carries throughout the school and serves as a unifying visual story.
The site’s history is rooted in beekeeping, with natural beehives once thriving on the land and honey playing an important role in the local economy. This connection, combined with the area’s topiaries, winding rivers, and the natural beauty of the Texas landscape, informed both the theme and visual language of the project.
We carefully pulled colors and textures from the surrounding environment to create artwork that feels peaceful, grounded, and inviting for young learners. The graphics were designed as interactive experiences, with hexagonal elements that encourage exploration through hidden details and “I Spy” moments. These layered visuals not only spark curiosity and imagination but also introduce an additional learning opportunity woven directly into the built environment.
About The ProjectThis project presented a unique and demanding challenge. After a previous graphics firm exited the stadium project unexpectedly, I stepped in under a tight deadline to recreate the entire graphics package for the venue. Beyond developing the graphics, I also supported the team by recreating key renderings to ensure visual continuity and alignment across the project.
In my approach to design, I prioritize a deep understanding of the community and the city each project represents. I consider what holds meaning within that environment and translate those values into a cohesive visual narrative. For me, design is about storytelling, creating work that reflects its surroundings while remaining authentic to the identity and spirit of the place.
About The ProjectThis project marked my first environmental graphics experience, where I developed a complete graphics package tailored specifically to the school’s needs. A particularly meaningful aspect of the project was that the school chose to invest additional funding to create two distinct graphic packages in partnership with Stantec, highlighting the value placed on thoughtful, design-driven learning environments.
My goal was to create graphics that were not only engaging and interactive for students, but also conveyed a sense of movement and energy throughout the space. The result was an environment that encourages exploration while enhancing the overall flow and visual rhythm of the school.
